Curt Landes

Biography

Curt ‘Gaptoof’ Landes is a musician, bandleader, pianist and recording artist. Born in New Orleans, raised in Louisiana & Arkansas, by his teenage years Gaptoof was calling St. Louis, Missouri his home.


His music career has taken him through most of the U.S. and into Canada. Some noteworthy highlights are performances in St. Louis with Chuck Berry, a U.S. tour with blues legend Albert King, playing organ alongside "Rock & Of Hall Of Fame" pianist Johnnie Johnson, concerts w/ the St. Louis Symphony and even playing a for a nationally broadcast TV special under the St. Louis arch with Glen Campbell & John Hartford. Gaptoof has also opened shows for singer Phoebe Snow, jazz innovators "The Yellowjackets", pop jazz band "Spyrogyra", comedian David Brenner, country singers Mickey Gilley & Johnny Lee and more.
