Elsie Parker & The Poor People of Paris
Biography
The “très belle” voice of Elsie Parker sounds as if its floated straight from the romantic boulevards of Paris. Elsie and the Poor People of Paris specialize in French popular music and jazz, just like you would imagine hearing at a Parisian cafe. Elsie emanates the vocal style of Edith Piaf, a beloved French cabaret singer, and also performs on clarinet, bass clarinet, flute and tenor saxophone. The group has graced the stages of Powell Hall, Nordstrom’s Chicago Fashion Show, The Sheldon Theater and French TV Program “La Chance aux Chansons,” which was filmed in Paris and viewed throughout France, French speaking Canada and Africa. Elsie Parker and the Poor People of Paris add romance and class to weddings, intimate parties and themed events.
